Hermitage Museum to sell digital works on marketplace Binance NFT

MOSCOW, Aug 31 (PRIME) -- Russia’s State Hermitage Museum will start selling digital works from a limited collection it created on the basis of images from its collection with the use of the non-fungible tokens (NFT) technology, Binance NFT, a marketplace of global blockchain ecosystem Binance, said on Tuesday in a statement.

“The auction will start on August 31, at 3 p.m. Moscow time and will end on September 7, at 3 p.m.,” Binance NFT said.

All the tokenized digital works were created in two copies – one will be kept at the Hermitage and the second will be presented on Binance NFT. All the digital copies are signed in person by the museum’s head Mikhail Piotrovsky.

The starting price of the works amounts to 10,000 BUSD, a regulated stablecoin secured by the fiat money and tied to the U.S. dollar. Every BUSD has a reserve U.S. $1. All the grossed money will be remitted to the Hermitage. Any Binance user can bid for the works.

The masterpieces include The Madonna Litta by Leonardo da Vinci, Judith by Giorgione, Lilac Bush by Vincent van Gogh, Composition VI by Wassily Kandinsky, and A Corner of the Garden at Montgeron by Claude Monet.
